It was a beautiful December. Everyone was like shivering in the cool winds of idukki. For the natives it was quite expected, but for the new comers it’s like a freezer. It was at this time, a group of youngsters landed on the soil of Idukki, with a lot of dreams and expectations about their future. Parent(s) were with most of them. And they were the students came to join the engineering college approved for the beautiful district of Idukki, The Government Engineering College.<\/p>\n

There were not many buildings in the forest like place Painavu where the officials wanted to setup a temporary college. At last, they decided to renovate the ex-district hospital to become the new govt. engg. college. I have heard that this same building was the Idukki collectorate building some time back before it was made the district hospital.
